South Pacific: 9 nights in April 2013

Get aboard the Carnival Spirit for this fun cruise in the stunning South Pacific. Departing from Sydney, it takes in some of New Caledonia's greatest cruise ports. The first stop after several days at sea is the pretty Isle of Pines. This island is named for the pine trees framing the beaches, and has beautiful sandy shores and blue lagoons. Next is another beautiful island, Lifou. This diverse piece of land has limestone caves, coral reefs and white beaches, and it is a great spot to get in the water and do some snorkeling or diving.

Next is the city of Noumea, the country's capital. A mix of French and native Kanak culture, language and cuisine, it is an excellent place to explore! The Petit Train is a fun way to tour the city, and the Tjibaou Cultural Centre is a fascinating place to visit and learn about the country's history.

The final port of call before returning to Sydney is Mare, a raised coral atoll populated by friendly islanders. The atoll has natural swimming pools and caves to explore as well as the small towns. Relax over a few more sea days as the ship returns to Sydney.
